– What We DO –
Project Homeless Connect Washington County operates a street outreach team, an access center, peer mentors, year-round non-congregate shelters, inclement weather shelters, various housing programs, and collaborative one day resource events.
Utilizing trauma-informed care, a DEI lens, and other current best practices, we are ending houselessness and changing the lives of the friends we serve.
One-stop-shop events that provide extensive, critical services such as dental care, haircuts, and housing connections. These events happen tri-annually in Hillsboro, Beaverton, and Tigard.
Our street outreach team engages with people living in unsheltered locations, addresses their immediate needs, and builds trust to help propel them toward stability.
A place of refuge; where people can take showers, do laundry, receive meals, and connect to resources. It is the home base for all of our programs.
Assistance with mental health, addiction recovery, and overall wellness from individuals with lived experience.
We operate two types of shelters: 1) year-round motel model shelters, and 2) ad hoc congregate shelters during inclement weather.
We offer short-, medium-, and long-term housing assistance programs with one-on-one case management.
– Project Homeless Connect –
Project Homeless Connect empowers individuals experiencing houselessness by meeting them where they are and walking with them on their unique journeys toward stability and self-reliance.
Amanda (case manager) smiled at me and looked me in the eye; she treated me like a human being, not like an animal on the street. She saved my life. She helped me get into housing after years of struggling. I get to call this my home. I am happy here. I’m safe.
Thank you for everything you do here at the access center. If it was not for you all, I wouldn’t have been able to get my life together. Because of your support, I was able to secure an amazing job. I am able to be in my children’s lives again. I have a home and can be a functioning part of society. The access center will always be a home away from home for me.
I became homeless after a traumatic brain injury and was hit by a car while living outside. Since then, Project Homeless Connect helped me get into shelter and then housing. My injuries have been healing. I’m cooking real food and getting good rest. It’s tremendous!
