One-Day Events are one of Washington County’s largest collaborative events, bringing more than sixty service providers in one space to provide essential, life-changing services and resources free of charge. Hundreds of individuals and families experiencing housing instability come to these events. In just a single day, participants can access a wide range of support that might otherwise take months to secure—or may never be affordable. Services may include dental care, eye exams with prescription eyeglasses, haircuts, veterinary care, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, mental health and recovery support, housing navigation, assistance with social service applications, connections to second-chance employment opportunities, HIV testing, and more. Each event provides two warm meals, a large clothing closet, pet-sitting, and childcare accommodations. We host these events three times a year: Hillsboro in the spring, Beaverton in the summer, and Tigard in the fall.
