Outreach Team
The Street Outreach Team identifies and engages with people living in unsheltered locations, such as in cars, parks, abandoned buildings, encampments, and on the streets. They play a critical role in ending homelessness by reaching people who might not otherwise seek assistance or come to the attention of the homelessness service system. They ensure that people’s basic needs are met while building trusting relationships, connecting them to further services that support their journey toward stability.
Project Homeless Connect believes collaborative efforts are key to fully meeting the needs of the community and addressing the homelessness crisis. The Street Outreach Team works with public libraries, local law enforcement, businesses, parol officers, and partner agencies to amplify their outreach. When the team identifies minors or families with minors living in places not meant for human habitation, warm handoffs are made to partner agencies who specialize in these demographics.
“I was at a low point. I stopped caring about everything since it was all taken away… but then I met Project Homeless Connect. They gave me hope at a time when I had none.”
