Facilitate a Donation Drive

Please contact us before delivering any items.

Food donations can be dropped off at our Access Center temporarily at 1440 SE 21st Ave Hillsboro, OR 97123 during open hours (Wed-Sun; 9 am – 5 pm). Please email amberfreeman@phcwc.org to coordinate your drop-off.

Clothing, hygiene items, and housing welcome baskets can be dropped off at Hillsboro United Methodist Church (168 NE 8th Ave) between 12-4pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Please email volunteer@phcwc.org to coordinate your drop-off.

Linen donations (blankets, sheets, towels, and pillows) to support our shelter are accepted by appointment only to ensure donations are received with purpose. Please email amberfreeman@phcwc.org to coordinate your drop-off.

We Look For:

Clothing & Shoes

We invite you to donate gently used or new clothing and shoes in good condition for our clothing closet. We encourage the following items:

  • Brand new underwear
  • Waterproof shoes
  • Unisex sweatpants and sweatshirts
  • Men’s clothing (especially jeans)
  • Women’s bras
  • New socks
  • Raincoats
  • Shower shoes

Hygiene Kits

Hygiene items are always in demand. Put some of these items in bags to pass out or donate for us to give away. Travel-sized items are best.

  • Deodorant
  • Body wipes
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Dental Floss
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Dry shampoo
  • Tampons or pads
  • Nail clippers
  • Chapstick
  • Sunscreen
  • Lotion
  • Tissues
  • Band-Aids/First aid kits
  • Shaving cream, razor, and small mirror
  • Foot powder or baby powder

Welcome Baskets

Our newly housed friends are in need of the basic essentials upon move-in! Put these items in a laundry basket for us to pass along:

  • Toilet paper, plunger, and hand soap
  • Shower curtain, hooks, and mat
  • Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
  • Body, hand, and face towel
  • Laundry detergent
  • Paper towels
  • Dish soap and sponge
  • Paper or plastic dishware and utensils

Groceries

Our Access Center serves two warm meals every day, and your food donations also support our Hillsboro Shelter. Please email amberfreeman@phcwc.org or call 503-858-5137 to see what groceries we need! Here is a list of food we generally always need and use.

Your donations of linens help keep our Hillsboro Shelter warm, welcoming, and comfortable. We encourage the following items:

  • Twin and full size fitted sheets
  • Twin and full size blankets
  • Throw blankets
  • Standard size pillows
  • Bath towels
